This sculpture utilizes the diagram of a water molecule for its composition. Within the Christian religion and many of the world’s other religions, water is a powerful symbol of life and transformation. Many of the early Christian churches were built atop springs or near pools of water, that also were important sites of Pagan worship. At Corpus Christi this sculpture was sited in front of the main altar where the ritual of transubstantiation takes place.
